Malaguenan laulaja Laura Román esiintyy Málagan XXI Flamencokoulun tapahtumassa

MÁLAGA, May 25. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The 21st edition of the Municipal Flamenco Classroom continues on Wednesday, May 29, with a performance by the Malaga singer Laura Román, accompanied by the guitarist Antonio Carrión.
This cycle, which is free of charge, is organized by the Area of Operational Services, Beaches, and Festivals of the City Council of Malaga and has the collaboration of the Provincial Council, which lends its space at the María Victoria Atencia Cultural Center.
The performance will begin at 7:30 p.m. Tickets can be picked up on the same day from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., at the Festival department of the City Council, at the Operational Services, at Camino San Rafael, number 99 and those that remain available will be distributed at the cultural center itself from 6:00 p.m. onwards.
The coordinator of the cycle, Manuel Fernández Maldonado, states that ”the Malaga singer Laura Román comes from a dynasty of very good flamenco artists from the El Palo neighborhood. She has a good, clean, and flamenco voice. She tackles with ease all the flamenco styles, excelling in rhythmic singing such as bulerías, tangos, or cantiñas.”
He also highlighted that the artist ”also adapts easily to flamenco dance, usually finishing some songs with dance, fitting them perfectly.”
The City Council has indicated in a statement that in her beginnings she was a student of the master Fosforito. She has performed alongside great flamenco figures such as José Mercé or Estrella Morente. She has numerous awards and distinctions from flamenco competitions and events. Currently, she also teaches this art in schools in Malaga and Seville.
The Municipal Flamenco Classroom reaches its twenty-first edition this year 2024 ”maintaining its line of support for Malaga talent since all the artists who participate in this established cycle are artists from the capital or the province.”
It features eight performances dedicated to singing, guitar playing, and dancing, and the lineup of the 21st edition includes Chato de Málaga, Antonia Contreras, Pepe de Campillos y Daniela Florido, Laura Román, Luisa Chicano, Paqui Ríos, Luis Perdiguero, and the Cuadro de Ana Pastrana.
”It is a lineup with a great diversity of voices and specialists in certain flamenco styles,” highlighted from the City Council, pointing out that this cast combines new artists like Daniela Florido who performs alongside the veteran Pepe de Campillos.
The purpose of this Municipal Flamenco Classroom, and for which it was created, is the dissemination of flamenco art in its three aspects of singing, guitar playing, and dancing. It is about maintaining this art in all its purity and integrity, promoting a passion for flamenco art and making it more widely known and appreciated. The poster has been made, once again, by the artist and technician of the Festivities Area, Fernando Wilson.
