FUENGIROLA (MÁLAGA), 22 May. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The mayor of Fuengirola (Málaga), Ana Mula, along with the councilors of Urban Ecology and Sports, José Sánchez and Julio Rodríguez, respectively, presented on Wednesday the Urban Trails Network that the City Council has created to promote healthy habits and showcase the city.
It is a project that proposes five routes through different areas of the municipal area, with different levels of difficulty and length, passing through a total of 21 points of interest.
”Fuengirola is mostly flat and accessible for exploring from end to end. Therefore, we believe that a good way to get to know it, and at the same time do something as healthy as physical exercise, are these routes that we present today. It is an initiative aimed at the people of Fuengirola, but also at the numerous visitors who come to our town,” explained the mayor.
The City Council has already launched the first one, called ’Sohail’, starting and ending at Plaza de España, which covers about five kilometers to the castle with this name and lasts approximately two hours.
Soon, the rest will be launched, such as the ’Centro Trail’, about four kilometers long, lasting one hour and starting at Plaza de la Constitución; and the ’Bulevar de La Loma Trail’, six kilometers starting and ending at the Fairground, lasting an hour and a half.
There is also the ’Toro de Torreblanca Trail’, from Plaza Pedro Cuevas to cover almost five kilometers in an hour; and the ’Sea Trail’, the most difficult and longest of all, which also starts at the mentioned square and consists of eight kilometers that can be covered in about two hours.
All routes will be marked with tiles with two colored circles on the ground of their path. Likewise, the City Council has placed informative posts at the beginning of each of them, as well as a website where users can find information about the 21 points of interest that they can find along each trail.
