Fuengirola Promotes Itself in Madrid by Bringing the Best of Its Beach to Chamberí Square
Fuengirola will be promoted in the capital of Spain by bringing the best of its beach to the Madrid neighborhood of Chamberí. The mayor of Fuengirola, Ana Mula, and the representatives of the local Beach Entrepreneurs Association announced today that they will hold a presentation day for the destination on Saturday, May 11 in Chamberí Square, inviting the residents of Madrid to taste their most typical dish, sardine skewers.
”It will be an unprecedented promotional action. We will bring our wonderful beach to the heart of the capital of Spain, with the radiating effect that this entails to the rest of the country. Fuengirola is a leading tourist destination and increasingly recognized in our nation. Therefore, it is important to maintain a continuous promotion policy to continue inviting them to come to our town,” stated the mayor.
From noon onwards, with the support of the Beach Entrepreneurs Association, the City Council and the Chamberí District Council will invite the residents of Madrid and visitors to enjoy sardine skewers in the square named after this traditional neighborhood. There will also be a drinks bar managed by the Francisco Luzón Foundation ’United against ALS’, with proceeds going towards their social work.
”Because with this event, we not only want to reinforce the values of an open, festive, and cheerful city that the Fuengirola Brand represents, but also highlight the solidarity and welcoming character that defines us Fuengiroleños,” emphasized Mula.
In this sense, the mayor will be accompanied by the deputy mayor, Rodrigo Romero, as well as the councilors of Beaches and Tourism, José Sánchez and José Luis Ponce, respectively, to hold working meetings with stakeholders for the municipality.
Additionally, this Madrid urban enclave will be decorated with characteristic elements of Fuengirola’s coastal furniture, such as the well-known surveillance booths, among others.
To liven up the event, promotional videos of the destination will be displayed, and local music groups Efecto Mariposa – in acoustic format – and Los Salvajes del Rebalaje will perform.
From the professional sector, the president of the National Federation of Beach Entrepreneurs, Norberto del Castillo, ensured that it will be an important event with a very direct relationship with the public to showcase the destination. He also explained that the Association will bring around 700 kilos of sardines to Madrid, with the hope of offering about 3,000 skewers.
