Al Fresquito-festivaali « Euro Weekly News

Once again in 2024, the town of San Roque will be hosting a variety of musical performances for the summer season.

In July, the Al Fresquito Festival will make its return, taking place on Saturday, July 20th starting at 9:30 pm in the Plaza de Las Constituciones. The festival will feature several bands performing music from the 80s and 90s, providing entertainment for the people of San Roque.

The lineup includes bands such as La Guardia, Orquesta Mondragón, La Frontera, and Djohn. These well-known artists will bring back the nostalgic tunes that have stood the test of time and are beloved by the audience.

La Guardia is a rock band that originated in Granada, Spain in the 1980s. With over one and a half million records sold, they are considered a significant band in the history of Spanish rock.

Orquesta Mondragón, formed in 1976 in San Sebastián, is known for its eccentric singer Javier Gurruchaga and its humorous and provocative spirit.

La Frontera, a Spanish rock band established in 1984, draws influence from American outlaw, country rock, and roots Americana, setting them apart in a music scene dominated by pop and indie.

If you’re looking to experience the best of Spanish bands from the 80s and 90s, don’t miss out on the Fresquito Festival in San Roque. Plus, admission is free, making it a perfect opportunity to sing and dance under the summer night sky.
