Catalonia is one of the favorite summer tourist destinations. Its stunning beaches, nightlife, and cultural offerings are some of its charms, attracting thousands of tourists to its towns and cities during the warm months. There are only a few weeks left until the holiday season officially kicks off, but many people are already starting to arrive in the region. One of the must-do plans on the Costa Dorada is PortAventura. The amusement park welcomes thousands of families every year who want to enjoy the facilities located between Salou and Vilaseca. It is one of the largest in Spain and even in Europe. Throughout the year, it hosts various themed events (Halloween, Christmas, Valentine’s Day…), but its peak visitors usually occur in the summer months. Some of its main attractions are Shambala, Furious Baco, Dragon Khan, or Hurakan Condor. There are also monuments that catch the attention of visitors. One of them is the iconic Easter egg, which was 16 meters high and weighed 12 tons and was inaugurated in April 2022. This peculiar sculpture held the Guinness World Record for being the largest in the world. Why has it disappeared from PortAventura? However, some park users have noticed that this giant egg is no longer in its place, where now you can see a basket with Easter eggs. The reason the park management decided to remove it is that it lost its recognition in the Guinness Book of Records. This sculpture was already surpassed by another one. Specifically, it is an Easter egg located in Pomerode, Brazil. This egg, from the Associação Visite Pomerode, measures about 16.72 meters high and 10.88 meters in diameter. It was one of the main attractions of Osterfest 2023, their particular Easter celebration.
